How the Globug login works

The Globug login process gives New Zealand customers secure access to their online account or mobile app. Once you're in, you can view and pay bills, check past transactions, track electricity (and where relevant gas or broadband) usage in real time, submit meter readings, manage payment options and receive account notifications.

You can sign in two ways: through the Globug customer portal on the web (best on a laptop or desktop) or through the GLOBUG APP on your phone or tablet. Both share the same credentials, so a single email and password gets you into either.

Globug login for the first time

Follow these six steps once and the GLOBUG APP will remember you from then on.

Download the GLOBUG APP

Get the official Globug app from Google Play, the App Store or your device's app store. Avoid third-party download mirrors.

Create or register your account

Open the app and choose Register or Create account. Enter your email and create a strong password.

Enter your account number or ICP

Provide the account number or ICP printed on a recent Globug bill so the app can link your supply to the new login.

Confirm your email address

Click the verification link in the email you receive. This activates the new login.

Sign in

Return to the app and sign in with your email and password.

Enable biometric login (optional)

Switch on Face ID, fingerprint or a PIN inside the app settings to skip the password from now on.

Did not receive the verification or password-reset email

Possible causes

  • Wrong email address used at sign-up
  • Email landed in Spam, Junk or Promotions
  • Corporate or ISP filter blocked delivery

How to fix it

  1. 1 Search your mailbox for "Globug"
  2. 2 Check Spam, Junk and Promotions folders
  3. 3 Add the sender to your safe-senders list
  4. 4 On a work email, ask IT to whitelist the retailer domain
  5. 5 Still nothing? Call support with your account number

Account number or ICP not recognised

Possible causes

  • Wrong reference entered
  • Typos (O vs 0, extra spaces)
  • Bill belongs to a different property or person

How to fix it

  1. 1 Use the number labelled "Account number" (or ICP) exactly as printed on a recent bill
  2. 2 Strip spaces, hyphens and trailing dots
  3. 3 Photograph the bill and contact customer service if it still fails

Saved credentials stopped working after an app update

Possible causes

  • The update invalidated the saved session token
  • Forced password rotation by the retailer

How to fix it

  1. 1 Sign in again with your email and password
  2. 2 Reset your password from the login screen if needed
  3. 3 Re-enable biometric login (Face ID or fingerprint) after the new sign-in

Two-factor or verification code never arrives

Possible causes

  • Phone number on file is out of date
  • Mobile-network or SMS-gateway delay
  • Network filters blocking short-code SMS

How to fix it

  1. 1 Check the phone number stored on your account
  2. 2 Request a voice call instead of an SMS if the app offers it
  3. 3 Switch to an authenticator app if supported
  4. 4 Wait a couple of minutes; codes occasionally arrive late

Multiple ICPs or properties linked to one login

Possible causes

  • Same email used for several supply points
  • Moved house and old ICP still attached

How to fix it

  1. 1 Use the in-app account or property switcher
  2. 2 Ask Globug to merge or split ICPs to the right profile
  3. 3 Confirm the active ICP before paying so the right bill is settled

Download the official GLOBUG APP from your phone's app store (or open the customer portal on a desktop). Choose Register if you don't yet have a login, enter your email and create a password, then provide the account number or ICP printed on a recent Globug bill. Confirm your email via the verification link and you're in. Most apps then offer biometric login (Face ID or fingerprint) for faster future sign-ins.

Tap Forgot password? on the login screen of the app or the customer portal and enter the email you used at sign-up. A reset link is emailed within a minute or two. If it doesn't arrive, check Spam and Promotions, then contact Globug support directly on 0800 PRE PAY (0800 773 729).

Enable biometric login (fingerprint or Face ID) and a screen-lock on your device for an extra layer of protection. Never share your password by email or SMS — Globug support will never ask for it.

Yes. If you have several ICPs (a holiday home, a tenancy, a small business) you can link them to a single login and switch between them inside the app. If your old property is still listed after a move, contact Globug so the ICP is moved off your profile and you stop seeing bills that aren't yours.
