Our editorial standards
Every guide published on Selectra New Zealand is researched, written and reviewed by an in-house energy specialist. Our editorial process is built on three principles:
- Independence: we are not owned by any electricity retailer and our recommendations are based on publicly available data, regulator publications and provider price plans ;
- Accuracy: pricing, plan and scheme information is cross-checked against official sources such as the Electricity Authority, MBIE and provider websites, and updated whenever rates change ;
- Clarity: we translate complex tariff structures, low-user vs standard-user rules and government scheme eligibility into plain English so any household can act on the advice.
